Keep an eye out for posters around town promoting events in venues, and around, Órgiva – and other places in Las Alpujarras. Be warned, some posters have men in tight underpants trying to look…something. And, as ever, please let us know what we’ve missed.

2 August, Saturday 9.30pm – Flamenco festival, Colegio San José de Calasanz, Órgiva

Five euros gets you a feast of flamenco. Best directions we can give: head to Bar Cañadas (near Día supermarket), go up the road to its side and walk for three minutes.

This small village is a short drive from Órgiva on the way to the white villages. This spellbinding week-long festival is in its sixth year. Here’s an earlier post where it’s mentioned.
